The Calyx Smock is named after the part of the flower where petals and fruit form. Balanced between the decorative and utilitarian, the pattern stems from the designer's memory of her mother's hairdressing apron, which she wore in the late 70s, combined with the handmade gathered smock she dressed the designer in at the same time.
