He joined the 72nd Regiment (Seaforth Highlanders of Canada) as a Lieutenant

he was admitted on May 4th to the Canadian Medical Centre and treated for a bout of Influenza

He fought on the Niederrhein and was killed inaction on April 8th 1945 in Essen Germany

but only seven are known to have carried out the attack
