In plated silver, the badge itself in the form of an ornate shield and surmounted by a crown, obverse illustrating the Academy's insignia within an oval frame, surrounded by the Latin inscription "TU TUTANTUR ORNANT, EMENDANT. 1855", reverse illustrating a crowned shield and bearing an "8" flanked by "NO at the left and "DO" at the right, inscribed "ACADEMIA DE PRIMERA CLASE DE SEVILLA" below, measuring 38. 2 mm
