Canada, CEF. A Memorial Cross to Pte. W. Lund, 29th Battalion, KIA 1918 Hold and Victory Medal (442701 PTEA Memorial Cross, in silver, reverse engraved 769577 PTE. W. LUND, reverse marked STERLING, measures 31. 8 mm (w) x 34. 7 mm (h), dark patina, extremely fine. Footnote: William Lund was born Blackburn, Lancaster, England in February 1890. He was a farmer when he enlisted on January 3, 1916 with the 124th Battalion in Toronto. In August 1916, he was serving with the 205th Tigers of Hamilton Battalion, but was later transferred to the 180th Battalion.
