Germany, Heer. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, By Richard Simm & Söhne United Republic of badge in zinc(Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered feinzink, presenting as an oval oak leaf wreath, with a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked R. S. S.
