In silver, the obverse bearing a relief profile of Napoleon III, surrounded by the inscription EMPEREUR NAPOLEON III, stamped BARRE, measuring 41. 3 mm (h) x 26. 9 mm (w), no ribbon, extremely fine condition. Footnote: The Honour Medal For Courage and Devotion was established on 2 March 1820 by King Louis XVIII. It is awarded to individuals and whole units for acts of courage during a rescue.
