DataYard is looking for an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to join our Technical Operations team in Dayton, Ohio. DataYard’s System team works to maintain, expand and improve DataYard’s cloud infrastructure and manage dedicated customer environments. This position is located at our Tier III data center in downtown Dayton.

Job Details

  • Manage DataYard’s enterprise cloud infrastructure
  • Focus on automating system configuration and deployment
  • Experience writing automation scripts, preferably in Python
  • Troubleshoot support requests from a queue based ticketing system
  • Work with other members of DataYard’s Technical Operations team to help deliver services to customers
  • Respond to service issues during your on-call rotation
  • Support and manage DataYard’s data backup and recovery service
  • Leverage your technical skills to identify the future of DataYard’s cloud services

Who You Need to Be

  • Self-motivated individual; you don’t ask for things to work on, you find them
  • Capable of breaking down complex technical problems into easily explainable parts
  • Willing to say that you don’t know the answer, but will find it
  • Crave knowledge, but know you can’t learn everything from a book (or the Internet!)
  • At least 3 years experience supporting complex Linux server environments, preferably Debian based
  • Big problems don’t scare you; instead you look at them with a raised eye brow and a come-hither stare

What You Should Know

  • Have a firm grasp of engineering complex Linux server infrastructures
  • Be comfortable working with traditional Linux server applications, like Apache, MySQL (MariaDB), PostgreSQL, OpenLDAP, Bind
  • Understand the concepts of virtualization and preferrably have worked with VMware or OpenStack in a production environment
  • Deep experience in core Internet fundamentals (DNS, SMTP, Routing, etc.)
  • Comfortable discussing and working with network fundamentals, like routing and switching

What Would Really Help

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering)
  • Experience with configuration management tools, like Ansible/Cfengine/Puppet/Chef
  • Experience working with, and creating, RESTful based API services

DataYard is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our Technical Operations team in Dayton, Ohio. DataYard’s Network team works to maintain, expand and improve the network that provides connectivity to both our customers and DataYard’s cloud infrastructure.   • Manage DataYard’s core network switching and routing
  • Troubleshoot tier three network support requests from a queue based ticketing system
  • Work with other members of DataYard’s Technical Operations team to help deliver services to customers
  • Respond to network service issues during your on-call rotation
  • When needed, perform on-site work for customers with enterprise network services
  • Leverage your technical skills to identify the future of DataYard’s network

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Internet Meme Research)
  • Hold an active CCNA certification, a CCNP is preferred
  • Possess a strong comprehension of layers 1 through 4 of the OSI model
  • Be comfortable managing and manipulating dynamic routing protocols (BGP and OSPF)
  • Able to navigate and leverage Linux to complete basic tasks

We’re Hiring! Receivables & Payables

DataYard is seeking an Accounts Receivable / Payable Clerk to maintain customer profiles, issue invoices, post payments, collect past due accounts and respond to customer inquiries (by phone and e-mail). In addition, the successful candidate will reconcile recurring vendor invoices and enter them for payment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma. Additional accounting coursework is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting environment.
  • Experience working with receivables and collections. Payables experience is a plus.
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work with people as clients / customers.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and accounting computer systems.

Functions

Receivables

  • Setup and maintain customer profiles and billing records, including sales tax records
  • Process daily invoice batches
  • Process manual invoices as needed
  • Process incoming payments (checks, credit cards and electronic transfers)
  • Analyze past due accounts, contacting customers as needed
  • Respond to customer billing inquiries
  • Coordinate with sales to ensure customers are billed in an accurate and timely manner

Payables

  • Reconcile regular vendor invoices for accuracy, investigating discrepancies
  • Enter regular payables invoices for payment

 

This is a 20 to 30 hour per week position.
